The Game
What Is Callbreak?
Callbreak is a four-player trick-taking card game that has been a household favourite across Bangladesh, Nepal, and the wider South Asian subcontinent for generations. Played with a standard 52-card deck, the game sits in the same family as Spades and Bridge — but carries its own distinct rhythm that Bangladeshi players have made entirely their own.
At its core, Callbreak challenges you to accurately predict how many tricks you can win in a given hand before a single card is played. Underbid and you score negative points. Overbid and you leave points on the table. The sweet spot — calling exactly the right number and delivering — is where the real skill and satisfaction live.
7betd brings this beloved game online with smooth real-money tables, fast bKash and Nagad deposits, and live opponents from Dhaka, Rajshahi, Khulna, and beyond. Whether you have grown up playing Callbreak at tea stalls in Mymensingh or are discovering it for the first time, 7betd's platform makes it easy to jump into a table within seconds of creating your account.
4 Players Per Table
Callbreak is always played four-handed. Each player is dealt 13 cards from a standard 52-card deck.
5 Rounds Standard
A full Callbreak session consists of five consecutive rounds. Final scores are tallied after all five rounds are complete.
Spades Are Always Trump
Unlike some variants, in classic Callbreak the trump suit is permanently fixed as Spades for every hand of the game.
Bid-Based Scoring
Each player announces their bid before play begins. Meeting or exceeding your bid earns positive points; falling short costs you.
Beginner's Guide
How to Play Callbreak – Rules & Gameplay
New to Callbreak? These are the rules you need to know before sitting down at a real-money table at 7betd. The game is easy to learn but genuinely rewarding to master.
The Deal
The dealer distributes all 52 cards equally among the four players — 13 cards each. Cards are dealt one at a time in a counter-clockwise direction. The dealer position rotates with each new round.
Making Your Call (Bid)
Before play begins, each player examines their hand and announces a bid — a number between 1 and 13 — representing the minimum number of tricks they commit to winning that round. Bidding zero is not allowed; every player must commit to at least one trick.
Playing a Trick
The player to the right of the dealer leads the first card. All other players must follow the lead suit if they hold a card in that suit. If you cannot follow suit, you may play any card — but only a Spade (trump) or a higher card of the led suit can win the trick.
Winning a Trick
The highest card of the led suit wins the trick — unless a Spade is played, in which case the highest Spade wins regardless of the led suit. The winner of each trick leads the next one.
The Trump Rule (Spades Override)
Spades are the permanent trump suit in Callbreak. A player who cannot follow the led suit may play a Spade to win the trick. However, you are not forced to play a trump — you can discard any non-Spade card instead. Strategic use of your Spades is one of the most important skills in the game.
Scoring Your Round
If you win exactly your bid number of tricks, you score that number as positive points. If you win more than your bid, you score your bid plus 0.1 for each extra trick. If you win fewer tricks than your bid, your bid amount is deducted from your score as a penalty.
Winning the Game
After five rounds, the player with the highest cumulative score wins the game. On 7betd, the prize pool is distributed among the top-ranked players at the table, with the game winner taking the largest share.
Table Stakes at 7betd
7betd offers Callbreak tables at multiple stake levels — from low-stakes tables starting at ৳50 per game, all the way up to high-roller tables where serious players compete for prize pools of ৳10,000 and above per session.

Card Rankings and Trump Suit Explained
Understanding card hierarchy is essential for accurate bidding and smart play. Here is a complete reference for Callbreak card values as used at 7betd.
| Rank (High to Low) | Card | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| 1st (Highest) | Ace (A) | Highest card in every suit. An Ace of Spades is the strongest card in the entire game. |
| 2nd | King (K) | Second-highest card. A King of Spades beats any non-Spade card. |
| 3rd | Queen (Q) | Strong in non-trump suits when the Ace and King have already been played. |
| 4th | Jack (J) | Often decisive in a contested trick within the same suit. |
| 5th | 10 | Mid-range card. Useful for leading suits where you hold multiple high cards. |
| 6th – 13th | 9 down to 2 | Lower-ranked cards. Used for discarding when you cannot follow suit or do not wish to waste trumps. |
| Trump Suit | Any Spade (♠) | Any Spade beats any non-Spade card regardless of rank. Among Spades, the standard A–K–Q–J ranking applies. |
Why Spades Are Always Trump
In Callbreak's Bangladeshi tradition, the Spade suit serves as a permanent trump throughout the entire game — unlike games where trump rotates or is chosen by bid. This fixed rule keeps the strategic framework consistent across every round, rewarding players who count how many Spades have been played and adjust their bids accordingly as the five-round game progresses.
Counting Trump Cards
There are exactly 13 Spades in a deck spread among four players. On average each player holds around 3–4 Spades at deal time, though distribution varies. Keeping a mental count of which high Spades have appeared helps you judge whether your remaining trumps are safe enough to use as trick-winners in later rounds.

7betd offers several Callbreak formats to suit different playing styles and session lengths. Whether you want a quick five-minute game or a longer competitive format, there is a table waiting for you.
Standard Callbreak (5 Rounds)

Speed Callbreak (3 Rounds)
A condensed three-round version for players who want faster action. Same core rules apply — the shorter format simply demands sharper bidding from the very first hand since there is less room to recover from an early mistake.

Expert Advice
Winning Strategy Tips for Callbreak
Good Callbreak players do not just know the rules — they think several tricks ahead. These eight strategy principles are used by consistently winning players at 7betd's real-money tables across Bangladesh.
Bid Conservatively on Your First Round
In the first round of a five-round game, err on the side of caution. Bidding one fewer trick than you think you can win protects you while you get a feel for how your opponents are playing and what high cards are in circulation.
Count Your Guaranteed Tricks Before Bidding
Before announcing your bid, count the number of tricks you can win almost regardless of what opponents do — typically your high Aces, Kings in suits where you hold three or more cards, and your safest Spades. Bid that number as your minimum.
Protect Your High Spades
Never waste the Ace or King of Spades on a trick you would win with a lower trump anyway. High Spades are your most powerful insurance — save them for contested tricks where the lead card is a high non-Spade that threatens your bid count.
Lead with Your Strongest Suit First
When you lead a trick, choose the suit where you hold the most high cards. This forces opponents to deplete their holding in that suit, creating voids in later rounds that allow you to trump in with Spades precisely when it matters.
Track How Many Spades Have Been Played
There are only 13 Spades in the deck. Once several high Spades have appeared in early tricks, the remaining Spades you hold become proportionally more valuable. Adjust your bids upward in later rounds when you know fewer opponent trumps remain.
Discard Strategically When Void
When you cannot follow the led suit and do not want to use a Spade, discard your lowest card from your weakest non-Spade suit. This preserves your Spades and keeps your high cards available for suits where they can guarantee you a trick.
Adjust Bids Based on Running Score
If you are trailing after two rounds, bid more aggressively to close the gap. If you are leading comfortably, a conservative bid that you meet exactly is safer than a high bid that risks a penalty. Always factor in the scoreboard context.
Use Free Play to Test New Tactics
7betd's free-play tables are not just for beginners. Experienced players use them to test unconventional bidding strategies and study how opponents respond to different lead patterns — without any financial risk while refining their game.
